Fine Arts Forum

The Future of the Fine Arts in Nova Scotia; a Public Forum...
Largely interesting as Stephen McNeil's first public appearance since becoming lead Liberal, and coming to that position from being the Heritage and Culture Critic.
Mike Savage, the Fed Liberal critic for Human Resources, also made an appearance.
Wendy Lill appeared as avatar for Alexa MacDonough, who was busy voting the troops home on Parliament Hill.
Otherwise, Peter Kirby (Program Officer NSTCH); Stephen Pedersen; Holly Carr, Holly Crooks, Laurie Swim, artists; Dinuk Wijeratne who was eloquent but admitted he had never before met any of the other participants, a consequence of his recent arrival.
Overall, nothing was said we haven't heard many times already - in essence - government should spend more money on arts and arts in education. Laments at the closure of the NS arm's length Arts Council.
